Once you’ve registered and gone through our Drivers Licence verification process (this can take up to 24 hours) you can book a Zimbl at anytime. You use the app to book your Zimbl’s starting address and finishing address by the hour, day or even longer.

The rental cost will be charged in 15-minute increments with a minimum booking of 1 hour.
*Charging is billed separately at our highly competitive rate of just 30p/kWh, with the first 5kWh included for free. For example, if you drive 100 miles during your booking and the vehicle’s average consumption is 3 miles per kWh, you’ll only pay around £8.50 for battery charging.
We only charge for 2 things – the hire time and battery spent, nothing else.

Standard vehicles: £8/hour or £80/day
Premium vehicles: £10/hour or £100/day
A Zimbl car delivered to your door. We can bring the car to you and collect it from a different specified location like your work or home.
We have a growing number of cars parked in strategic locations in Oxfordshire. Just book and collect the car from a Zimbl Hub. Zimbl Hub cars are CoMoUK accredited.
No, Zimbl does not require a deposit to rent a car. When you verify your Drivers Licence on your Zimbl app, you register a payment card and when you book a Zimbl, a single pending charge is put on your card for the hours you have booked for. At the end of your booking, a single transaction is made against your chosen payment method.
Once you’ve booked a car through the app, the app will provide instructions on how to unlock the car using your smartphone.
If you return the car fully charged, you will not be charged anything extra. However, if the car is not returned fully charged, there will be a charge of 30p per kilowatt-hour (kWh) consumed during your rental period. The first 5 kWh are free with each booking.
